Athanasia Symeonidou has a PhD in engineering from Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Her research focused on computer-generated holograms. As a self-taught software developer with a multidisciplinary background (physics, telecom engineering, holography), Athanasia has a deep understanding of immersive technologies and the prerequisites for great user experience and technical feasibility.

Currently, she works with Materialise where she develops innovative XR applications for the medical/healthcare sector.
