Yana Humen is a young expert based in Brussels with a cross-sector professional experience. Before joining Microsoft, Yana was cybersecurity and digital privacy policy trainee at the European Commission. She previously worked at think tanks, namely in the European Council on Foreign Relations and the Foundation of the Former Polish President Aleksander Kwaśniewski. A College of Europe alumna, she specializes in disinformation, digital affairs, and the EU’s foreign policy as well as she conducted research on resilience in cybersecurity.
Yana Humen presented her work on disinformation during the Liberal Defence Expert meetings of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Oslo and Kyiv. She was also a speaker at the Security Hackathon in Skopje on cybersecurity and personal freedom. Yana Humen moderated and presented at expert workshops organised within Model European Union simulations as well as moderated debates organised by the European Liberal Forum, including the Expert Forum in hybrid format.
