Ms. Tejal Jesrani is an American lawyer and a member of the NY Bar with 15+ years of experience in human rights, women’s rights, international criminal law, countering human trafficking and migrant smuggling, cybercrime and transnational organized crime. She is currently a Research Officer in the Crime Research Section of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime and the manager of the Measuring and Assessing Organized Crime in the Western Balkans project. This is an EU funded regional initiative to translate statistical data into evidence based policy to support advances in the rule of law in the countries/territories of the project and eventual accession to the European Union.
Before joining UNODC, she worked as an Attorney Advisor at the United States Department of Justice, Executive Office of Immigration Review and as Women’s Rights Associate at Human Rights Watch. Ms. Jesrani holds a juris doctor degree from the American University, Washington College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College.
