I am an economist by training with some elements of political economy, development economics and politics. My research focuses on financial markets, commodity and food prices, commodity futures markets and industries (soft and grain, with a weakness for cocoa), financialisation, international economics and finance, applied economics, and quantitative methods. Regional interests are Sub-Saharan Africa and West Africa in particular.

Most recent interests are (a) financialisation of commodity markets, implications for price formation and risk management and (b) shortcomings in established econometric methods and intersection between econometrics and statistics.
