Shara Mohtadi oversees grantmaking on coal campaign and litigation work in Japan, Australia, and Korea, and global subnational climate mobilization at Bloomberg Philanthropies. She was previously a senior climate and energy advisor for Governor Cuomo’s administration in New York. Prior, she served as a political appointee and climate and energy advisor in the Obama White House, at the Office of Management and Budget. She began her career publishing then-groundbreaking research on the link between climate, migration, and unrest in Syria, publishing in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (Kelley, Mohtadi et al., 2015)
