Scarlett is a member of Bruegel’s management team and leads Bruegel’s development department being in charge of implementing Bruegel’s fundraising strategy and partnership efforts. She is responsible for the enhancement of Bruegel’s outreach image by being active and visible among different stakeholders (corporations, EU officials, foundations, government officials, civic and private organisations etc). She also supports the development of the annual budget.

Scarlett is also co-founder of The Brussels Binder and co-lead of the BBBeyond project, financed by DG JUST, and co-host of the #Binder Talkback Podcast. She also led the efforts of drafting and publishing Bruegel’s Gender Equality Strategy.

Prior to working in Bruegel, she worked for the renewable energy industry (solar) on research and industry-led projects. She worked and travelled extensively in Latin America, working with local communities and setting up energy cooperatives in the Atacama region and Patagonia. She is trained in Economics and Business (BSc) and the European Union’s Financing Schemes (MA).

She speaks five languages: Romanian, Hungarian, English, French, Spanish and is learning German and beginner-level Chinese. Scarlett is a Belgian and Romanian national, of Hungarian ethnicity.
