Dr. Ronda Železný-Green is a DEI expert in the technology and education sectors. A mobile technologist, trainer, and researcher with gender and intersectional expertise, Ronda’s 15+ years of professional experience spans the public, private, and civil society sectors and five continents. Ronda holds the position of Global Head of Training and eLearning at the Internet Society, a global non-profit working to ensure that the Internet of opportunity can benefit all. She is also Co-Founder and Director of Panoply Digital, a women-owned, socially conscious organization leveraging expertise in tech, education, and gender to create sustainable solutions to development challenges.
Hallmarks of Ronda’s career include dedication to championing, coaching, and mentoring women in tech, learning with tech, and empowering women, girls, and people with disabilities using technological innovations as transformative tools.
Ronda previously worked at the GSMA, the global trade association for the mobile industry, where she led courses online and face-to-face for government officials in more than 150 countries. In addition to her identification as a Black and Native American cis woman excelling with ADHD, Dr Železný-Green has extensive experience delivering intersectional and action-oriented training that integrates the themes of gender and racial equity and justice with global perspectives.
During Ronda’s PhD study exploring what happens when girls at a secondary school in Kenya were introduced to a mobile-based tool to promote reading outside-of-school, Ronda was invited to speak at UNESCO. Since transitioning into tech ten years ago, Ronda has appeared on the BBC twice, written for The Guardian twice, and personally worked with Malala and the Malala Foundation (see her personal website www.rondazg.com). She is speaking at two major events in October 2020: Spinks / Computer Weekly's annual D&I event, and the Adas List conference 2020.
