Rola is a political sociologist, originally from Lebanon, trained in Europe and has extensive work experience in the US. Her esearch is mainly about the Middle East. Within that region she works on political elites, gender, and ethnic and sectarian conflict. Her first book was about political reconstruction following conflict, and her current book project is about women and political representation in the Arab world.
