Rachel Hammonds is an internationally recognised global health specialist, human rights advocate and licensed attorney with over 15 years’ experience in international research design and execution, project management, human rights advocacy and analysis. She has successfully led international, multi-disciplinary teams of researchers in designing research strategies to identify and address the challenges to realising health-related human rights in different contexts.

A widely-published academic and policy expert, Dr Hammonds has teaching, consulting and research experience spanning five continents. She has over 50 publications in peer-reviewed legal and medical journals and consulted for numerous international organisations including the WHO, UNAIDS, and MSF.

She is a founder and Board Member of the Brussels based non-profit, Mothers at Risk, which aims at reducing the vulnerability of women and girls living in poverty so they may have safer pregnancies and deliveries.
