Simona Pronckutė is a Programme Assistant for the European Politics and Institutions Programme. Before joining the EPC, Simona worked at NATO and was previously a trainee at the Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission. She has also worked as an Electoral Analyst for VoteWatch Europe. Simona was an organiser of the first ever European Citizens' Initiative ‘Fraternité 2020’ and has written extensively on democracy and youth related issues. She acts as an external expert on the European Citizens' Initiative for EU institutions. Simona also moderates and participates in a range of public debates.
Simona graduated from the College of Europe (Bruges) and has studied under various programmes in Italy, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Germany and the UK.
Besides her work, Simona is a board member of The ECI Campaign.
Simona has written and co-authored several publications and journalistic articles. She has experience in delivering presentations at high-level policy events, such as The European Citizens' Initiative Day 2013: Sign up to it! at the European Economic and Social Committee, the European Youth Event 2014 at the European Parliament in Strasbourg or a public hearing on secure funding for the education and youth programmes 2014-2020 at the European Parliament. In addition, she is skilled in moderating high-level events.
