I am a professor of translation studies at the University of Alicante, where I teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses. I hold a degree in translation and interpreting from the Comillas Pontifical University (Madrid) and a interuniversity doctorate in translation studies, professional and audiovisual translation from the Universities of Alicante and Valladolid. My thesis deals with non-sexist translation in the European Union.
My post-doctoral research focuses on non-sexist translation and other aspects of gender and language.
I am also an official external translator for the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union, in Luxembourg, with several simultaneous quatriannual contracts since 2013 for the translation of general, legal and financial texts. I have translated some 20 business books from English and French, and am a certified translator of English-Spanish.
I am an independent registered expert in gender studies and translation at the European Commission, and a member of the EuroGender network of the European Institute for Gender Equality (EUIGE), the Valencian Agenda d'Expertes platform, the international Expertes Genre database and the local feminist group Plataforma Igualdad Raspeig.
