Karen leads Google Government Affairs & Public Policy team in Brussels, where she represents the company towards the EU institutions and stakeholders. She supports the development and implementation of outreach strategies, and engages in various policy areas affecting the industry such as data governance, content, platform policies.

Previously, Karen was the CEO of BCW (formerly Burson-Marsteller), becoming one of the few female executives under 40 in Belgium when she was appointed in 2014. She managed pan-European projects towards regulators, industry, NGOs and media and led its EMEA Public Affairs Practice from 2013 to 2015. One of Karen’s signature achievements had been the relaunch of BCW Brussels as a public affairs and communications agency in 2016. As a result, clients could access the best strategic thinking and the digital communication services into lobbying campaigns and finding new ways to reach audiences and be remembered.
