I am a researcher and consultant specialising in the Euro-Mediterranean with a particular focus on Libya. I have worked on Libya for more than a decade. I have conducted research on Libyan political, security, economic and social dynamics for organisations including the International Crisis Group (ICG), the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), the European University Institute (EUI) and IEMED among others. I regularly brief European and US officials and international organisations on Libya. I am a contributing author to an edited volume on the Libyan revolution published by Oxford University Press. Previously a journalist, my reporting on Libya has appeared in outlets including the Economist, BBC, Foreign Policy, the New Yorker, the Financial Times and Jane's Defence Weekly.
I am a frequent contributor to international broadcast media including the BBC, NPR, and RFI. I have given talks and participated in panel discussions on Libya at the University of Oxford, the London School of Economics, UCLA, Chatham House, Carnegie, Friends of Europe, Milan’s ISPI and many other institutions in Europe and the US.
