Taxation, tax compliance and tax avoidance from an anthropological perspective are Lotta Björklund Larsens main research fields. Tax writ large provides a rich field for posing questions about knowledge-making. In particular she investigates how knowledge about taxation is made in interdisciplinary settings; is influenced by the increased usage of digitization technologies in contemporary society and as the result of collaborative efforts with informants and other interested stakeholders. Her work has mainly centered on Sweden and the Nordic countries.
