I have a passion for international human rights and am currently working towards my doctorate in international law. My particular interests lie in how to ensure human rights for the most vulnerable people, the law concerning refugees and forced migrants, and socio-economic human rights in international development. My work with Reprieve and WaterAid have given me an invaluable understanding of the human rights issues in these areas as well as providing me with an opportunity to understand the strategic issues faced by non-governmental organisations. Meanwhile my academic studies have increased my ability to research, analyse and succinctly present studies in human rights specifically, and the law more generally.
I have expertise in the international law surrounding refugee and migrant movements, especially in ensuring their human rights whilst on the move and am a Member of the QMUL Global Compacts Research Group who aim to provide expertise to the development of the Global Compacts on Refugees and Migrants. My specific area of research is on State Responsibility for displacement and how States may be held accountable for causing flows of people.
