Jelena Macura, a dual Croatian/Canadian national, joined Cefic in July 2019 where she manages the Sustainable Finance Issue Team and coordinates public affairs activities for the Food & Feed Sector Groups.

Jelena has been following the EU sustainable finance topic since the March 2018 Action Plan on Financing Sustainable Growth and focuses on the EU Taxonomy, non-financial reporting and due diligence.

Prior to joining Cefic, Jelena worked in the Government Relations team at ExxonMobil Petroleum & Chemical focusing on integrated advocacy for various upstream and downstream issues. As well, she worked in the Executive Office of the Southern Alberta Office of the Premier covering a range of provincial energy and finance topics and has collaborated with the Alberta Energy Regulator.

Jelena holds an MA in International Relations with a specialization in EU External Relations from the Brussels School of International Studies and a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of Alberta
