Iva Tasheva is a co-founder of CyEn and cybersecurity governance and policy consultant.
Earlier, she was responsible for the cybersecurity and privacy policies at DIGITALEUROPE (the European Tech Industry Association) and for the digital polices at the European Policy Centre (EPC, an EU policy think tank). Prior to that, she held various positions in Brussels at Obelis s.a., the European Authorised Representative, at the Permanent Representation of Bulgaria to the EU, at the European Parliament, and in the private sector in Sofia.
Most recently, she worked on legislative files such as the EU Cybersecurity Act, the EU Network and Information Security Directive (and the transposition law in Belgium), the ePrivacy Regulation, as well as on topics such as encryption and International data transfers.
Further to obtaining an MBA degree from KULeuven and a Cybersecurity Masters degree from the New Bulgarian University, Iva is candidate PhD at the New Bulgarian University. She is currently working on a research on the HR factor in cybersecurity.
She speaks six languages, loves to travel, and enjoys yoga.
