I have been working on climate and development for many years. Currently, I am a Policy Officer at ECDPM, working towards further widening the Centre’s scope towards more climate change research and expertise. I mainly deal with the question of how African countries can adapt to climate and build resilience. In doing so, the role of women is indispensable, but often forgotten. Therefore, part of my task is to raise awareness on the important link between gender and climate.
Prior to ECDPM, I lived in the world's most beautiful city, Kyoto, for four years, where I completed my PhD at Kyoto University. I was looking at the issue of mainstreaming climate change adaptation into existing development in Vietnam, with a special focus on the work of the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
And before that, I studied Japanese at the University of Leuven, Belgium. In my master thesis, I did a socio-historical analysis of the role of women within the family in the course of 100 years. I also have a Master-after-Master Degree in European Studies from the Free University of Brussels (ULB), Belgium.
