Frauke Renz works on international law and future trends of warfare, particularly focusing on private military and security companies and autonomous weapon systems. For her consulting firm IR.Asia she provides expertise for the private sector, NGOs and think tanks on issues at the nexus of international law and geopolitics. Frauke has lived in Asia for four years, has work experience in the consulting sector, for a private security company and was Visiting Researcher at the Max-Planck Institute for International Law, Georgetown University Law Center as well as the East-West Center.

Frauke Renz has been invited as speaker at several international conferences where she presented on international law and new trends in warfare as well as geopolitics. These conferences include the Global Forum on Energy Security in Beijing, the SIPRI Conference on the Protection of Overseas Nationals, the Global Negotiation Conference as well as the MPIL Agora. She was interviewed by outlets such as the Financial Times, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Reveal and has published in major newspapers, international journals as well as leading policy blogs.
