My name is Florence Benoit and I am an Economic and Policy Analyst in the Chief Economist team of DG Research and Innovation at the European Commission. I’m working at the intersection between economic analyses and innovation policy. More precisely, my area of expertise is the analyses of R&I devide, R&I connectivity and collaborations, and technological dependencies.

Before starting my professional career, I obtained my joint PhD degree in Business Economics from IMT Lucca School of Advanced Studies and KU Leuven. My dissertation focused on multinationals in global cities and included papers on mimicry in foreign direct investment location decisions and the innovation/collaboration network of world cities.
