Daniela Segovia is a Venezuelan political scientist by training and a policy-maker. Throughout the past 16 years, she has held diverse positions in the global governance arena, being her primary focus of expertise democracy, migration and human rights in Latin America. For her initiatives defending migrants´ human rights, she was selected as a Policy Leader Fellow (2018) at the School of Transnational Governance (SGT) at the European University Institute located in Florence, Italy; and as an Eisenhower Fellow and Carnegie New Leader (2019) in the United States.

At the Ortega y Gasset University Research Institute, Chapter Mexico, she is on charge of the subjects: Agreements, Treaties and International Organizations; and, International Legal Order at the Master in International Relations and Global Governance. Parallel to this, she develops programmatic content to carry out training activities on diplomacy, local governance, international cooperation, and project management fields.

She has lived in Australia, Colombia, Spain, Italy and is now based out of Mexico City. She holds a BA in Political Science (Central University of Venezuela), a MA in History of the Americas (Catholic University Andrés Bello); and a Master in International Organizations (University of Granada).
