I have studied languages and I am graduated from Sciences Po Paris in International Relations. After an internship at the European Parliament (Secretariat General in Luxembourg) I have started my Professional career working for local government. I have been working for 22 years at the CEMR, the Council of European Municipalities and RĂ©gions which gathers more than 50 national European associations of local government and is the European section on UCLG, the World organisation of local government. As Director of International cooperation and citizenship I was in charge of Citizenship and gender issues as well as development cooperation. In this Framework I have launched the European Charter for Equality of women and men in local life today signed by more than 1600 cities and have also directed Platforma, the Platform of local government for development cooperation. I have a long experience of cooperation with the European Institutions. Since 2014 I am working as a consultant in the same field and partucularly on gender issues.
I have organised, chaired and been a speaker of many European conférences, many of them on gender and in particular women participation in local government. I have also written many articles on this issue. I have launched the Observatory of the European Charter for equality of women and men in local life.
