I work in TV, online communications, journalism, film and social projects.
Originally from Scotland, I studied Philosophy, Politics and Gender Studies within a Liberal Arts degree in The Netherlands (while learning Dutch).
I then did a degree in Film, Television & Digital Production in London, with a specialism in documentary, art film installation and political cinema. In my final year I was selected for the Royal Holloway Global Leadership Programme as well as the Kathleen Nixon Award for journalism.
In 2018, I did a Diploma in Directing Documentary at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV in Cuba, and was selected for EsoDoc (European Social Documentary) in the same year. (EsoDoc is a project funded by the EU and which took the form of 3 training sessions: one in Tromsø, Arctic Norway; another in Bolzano, northern Italy; and one in Bari, southern Italy.)
In 2019 I was awarded the Ian Bell New Writers Award, and received the Lyra McKee Investigative Journalism Bursary.
