Dr. Beverly Barrett is an international policy specialist, educator and researcher in higher education, and consultant in organizational development. With a focus on institutional change and public policy, she researches regional integration, international trade, and governance. Currently she teaches in the graduate program at the Cameron School of Business at the University of St. Thomas in Houston. Dr. Barrett earned her doctorate in International Studies at the University of Miami in Florida while participating in a fellowship with the European Union Center of Excellence. She completed her B.S. cum laude in Human and Organizational Development at Vanderbilt University. Proficient in in Spanish, Italian, and French, she studied at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain while at Vanderbilt. In the M.A. program at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Bologna, Italy and Washington, D.C., she specialized in International Economics and Foreign Policy. Dr. Barrett's background includes service in public affairs with the U.S. House of Representatives, the White House Office of Cabinet Affairs, and the U.S. Department of State in Helsinki, Finland. Additionally, she served as Program Director with Literacy Texas and as Public Affairs Representative with the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. She has been a lecturer in Global Studies at the Bauer College of Business and at the Hobby School of Public Affairs at the University of Houston. She has served as Visiting Faculty in International Business at Universidad de las Americas Puebla (UDLAP), a U.S.-accredited university in Mexico.
