Aurore Chardonnet is leading Oxfam work on fighting tax evasion and tax avoidance to reduce inequality. Oxfam is a global movement of people working to provide humanitarian relief in crisis, empower people to gain social and economic equality.
Throughout the years she has acquired strong expertise in corporate tax issues and about most used tax dodging strategies. In 2017, she co-authored “Blacklist of Whitewash” showing what a robust EU blacklist of tax havens would look like if the EU were to objectively apply its own criteria and not bow to political pressures.
Prior to Oxfam, Aurore worked as policy adviser at the European Confederation of Independent Trade Unions (CESI) focusing on central administration, including tax administration; as well as member of cabinet for the French Minister of State for Women’s Rights.
Aurore Chardonnet has been taking part in numerous panels dealing with tax justice issues both at EU level and in EU capitals.
She regularly intervenes in EU media (press, radio, TV).
Aurore Chardonnet is also a member of the Platform for Tax Good Governance which assists the European Commission in developing initiatives to promote good governance in tax matters.
In 2017, Oxfam was chosen as EU personality of the year for Euronews readers notably thanks to Oxfam's work on tax justice.
