I work as Associate Director at the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab (DFRLab) based in Brussels, Belgium. During my time at the Council, I conducted research on disinformation in Italy and Europe, leading DFRLab’s Election Watch project in Italy in 2018 and publishing analysis on foreign propaganda and disinformation narratives in the country during the COVID-19 crisis. Initially contributing from Berlin, I transferred to DFRLab’s headquarter in Washington DC in late 2018, from where I supported global operations within the executive team. In January 2020, I relocated to Brussels, establishing DFRLab’s Europe Hub, from where I oversee EMEA programming and coordinate global partnerships, trainings, and events. I hold a Master’s Degree in International Relations and Security Studies from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University and a second Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.
In my current role, I published research and analyses for the DFRLab, the Atlantic Council, the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI), and Formiche, among others. My research was often quoted by other international media outlets, including Politico Europe, Bloomberg, and the Huffington Post. In the past few years, I personally oversaw the organization of several conferences, both online and in person, while more recently I started to feature on panels as an expert on disinformation, election integrity, and foreign influence operations in Italy and Western Europe more broadly.
