I got my PhD degree in History, Art History, and Archaeology at the University of Liege, Belgium (2021). My PhD thesis aimed to record ancient Egyptian artists' self-depictions and contributed to unravel their diverse social standings, as well as some specific iconographic (and textual) tricks they used to build their visual identity.
My current research project aims to study the appropriation of elite visual culture by the ancient Egyptian sub-elite for the late New Kingdom (ca. 1550-1186 B.C.E.) and the Third Intermediate Period. The voices of the lower classes are sometimes forgotten, but this new research project aims to bring their stories back to life.
This project has been conducted at the University of California, UCLA, and at Leiden University. It has been funded by a B.A.E.F. Postdoctoral Grant (2022-2023) and a NINO Postdoctoral Grant (2023-2025).
Scientific collaborator for the exhibitions "Pharaons superstars" (MUCEM, Marseille, 2022) and "Toutankhamon. À la découverte du pharaon oublié" (EuropaExpo, Liège, 2019-2020).
