I was the Commission Spokesperson for Climate Action and Energy until November 2019.
Prior to the spokesperson job I worked the Head of Communications at the Finnish Prime Minister's Office, responsible for Prime Minister's EU-communications such as speech-writing and briefing the media.
I was member of cabinet of Vice-President for Economic and Monetary Affairs, Olli Rehn 2010-2013 where I was in charge of justice and gender equality files as well as transport policy.
I was a Press Officer in High Representative/Commission Vice-President Catherine Ashton's team in 2010 and in the enlargement press team of the Commission Spokesperson's service in 2008-2010.
I started working with EU-communications in 2002 in the Commission Representation in Helsinki an then as Press Officer at the Parliament of Finland, where I was in charge of the communications of the EU-committee of the Parliament.
I hold an MA from University of Edinburgh and an LL.M. from University of Helsinki. I have also studied international law at the University of Zurich.
I am the Co-Founder of Brussels-based network for professional women, WECAN.

I have many years of experience from public speaking as the Commission spokesperson (2014-2019) when my daily job was to give on camera comments to media and chair press conferences and other events.
I have moderated a wide range of high-level conferences and panels Brussels and beyond, organised by the EIB and UNDP, Finnish SITRA, various universities, the Finnish Government and the EU institutions.
I have been a regular speaker and lecturer on climate and energy policies as well as gender equality in events organised both by the public sector, media houses (Politico EU, link below) as well as the private sector.
